Fair Use Policy

At FaxyFox we think faxing should be simple, affordable and free of counting pages. FaxyFox Unlimited lets you send and receive the faxes you need without worrying about what each page costs.

To keep that possible for everyone, there are a few reasonable rules about how the service can be used. This policy explains what unlimited means, what is fine, and how we handle unusual or abusive use.

If you are an ordinary person or a small business sending real faxes, you should never have to think about any of this.

New here? Everything the plan includes is set out at faxyfox.com/unlimited-faxing.

1. What Unlimited Includes

FaxyFox Unlimited is $8.99 a month. While your subscription is active you can send faxes to telephone numbers in the United States and Canada with no per-page charge, and there is no monthly page allowance to run out of.

It is built for normal personal and small-business faxing:

  • Forms, applications and other documents
  • Correspondence with businesses, government offices and other organisations
  • Contracts, invoices and routine business paperwork
  • Everyday administrative communications
  • Longer documents, or several faxes, as you reasonably need

Incoming faxes are unlimited too. Unlike our pay-as-you-go plans, a FaxyFox Unlimited subscription has no monthly allowance of incoming pages and no overage — pages you receive are not charged and do not draw on your credits.

Sending outside the United States and Canada is not part of the plan.

2. Your Fax Number

FaxyFox Unlimited includes a fax number free of charge for as long as you subscribe. It is not assigned to you automatically, because the area code is yours to choose — you register one from the Receiving section of your account whenever you want it, and you are not charged for it.

The number lasts as long as the plan does. If your subscription ends, the number ends with it rather than continuing on its own. If you want to keep a number after cancelling, you will need to pay for it like any other FaxyFox number.

You may hold one fax number per account.

3. Your Existing Credits

Credits you have already bought are not touched by the plan. They are not spent while your subscription is active, and they are not taken away.

They simply wait. If your plan ever ends, your balance is exactly where you left it and you can go back to paying by the page.

4. What Fair Use Means

Fair use means using FaxyFox for genuine, lawful fax communication, rather than as a mass-distribution or automated broadcasting service.

We do not expect everyone to send the same amount. Some people send a handful of documents a month and others send a great deal more. Sending more pages than somebody else is not abuse, and we do not treat it as such.

What we may look at is unusual use that suggests one of the prohibited activities below, or that places an unreasonable burden on the fax infrastructure we all share.

5. What Is Not Allowed

To protect our customers, our carriers and the service itself, the following are not permitted.

Mass faxing and unsolicited advertising. Bulk advertisements, spam, unsolicited marketing campaigns or large-scale fax broadcasts.

Automated high-volume sending. Bots, scripts, unauthorised integrations or other automated processes used to send large quantities of faxes beyond normal individual use.

Reselling or sharing the service. Reselling FaxyFox faxing, running a fax gateway for third parties, or sharing one subscription across unrelated people or organisations.

Circumventing restrictions. Creating multiple accounts, manipulating usage, or attempting to get around security controls or service limits.

Disruptive activity. Excessive simultaneous transmissions, repeatedly dialling unavailable numbers, or anything that harms the availability or reliability of the service.

Unlawful or abusive communications. Fraudulent, threatening, harassing or otherwise unlawful material, including anything that breaches applicable fax advertising, telecommunications or privacy law.

6. Is There a Monthly Page Limit?

No. FaxyFox Unlimited has no fixed monthly page allowance, and we do not publish a secret number that turns your plan off.

What unlimited does not mean is unrestricted use of our infrastructure for mass distribution, automation or abuse. Where use looks unusual we may consider things like how often faxes are sent, the pattern of destinations, the effect on the service and how long it has gone on.

High usage on its own is not a breach of this policy.

7. If Your Usage Is Unusually High

Our aim is to keep your faxes going out, not to catch you out. Where activity looks like it may fall outside this policy, we may:

  • Review the usage
  • Contact you to understand what you are using FaxyFox for
  • Ask you to adjust how you are sending, or discuss an arrangement that suits you better
  • Temporarily limit or suspend sending, where that is genuinely necessary to protect the service

Wherever it is reasonably practical, we will contact you and give you a chance to sort it out before applying any restriction. Where there is suspected fraud, unlawful activity, a security threat, or something that could seriously disrupt the service for other people, we may have to act immediately.

We will not charge you surprise per-page fees simply because your usage was high.

8. Using Unlimited for Your Business

Yes, and it is meant for that. Invoices, forms, contracts, applications and ordinary business paperwork are exactly what the plan is for.

What it is not for is running a commercial mass-faxing operation, a large-scale automated distribution system or a fax marketing platform.

If you have unusually high-volume needs, talk to us first and we will tell you honestly whether FaxyFox suits you.

9. Failed Faxes and Retries

Faxes fail. Machines are busy, lines are poor, numbers are out of service. Reasonable retries on genuine transmissions are expected and are not a problem.

Repeatedly sending to invalid or unavailable numbers at high volume, or deliberately generating unnecessary attempts, may be treated as abuse. We may apply sensible technical safeguards against excessive retries.

10. Billing and Cancelling

FaxyFox Unlimited is $8.99 a month and renews automatically until you cancel.

You can cancel at any time, from your account, at no cost. Cancelling stops the next payment; it does not cut your plan short. You keep unlimited sending and receiving until the end of the month you have already paid for, and you can change your mind and turn renewal back on before then.

We do not refund part-months. Since cancelling leaves the paid month running, there is nothing to refund.

When the plan ends you go back to pay-as-you-go with whatever credits you had, and your free fax number ends with the plan.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as FaxyFox changes, including to deal with new forms of abuse or new telecommunications requirements. Where a change materially affects existing subscribers we will tell you in advance wherever that is reasonably practical, and always where the law requires it.

Any change to the subscription price will be communicated separately before it takes effect.

No update will create retroactive per-page charges for faxing that was already covered by an active subscription.

12. Questions? Talk to Faxy

If you are not sure whether what you want to do is covered, ask us before you start. Normal personal and small-business faxing is almost always fine, and we would rather answer the question than have you guess.

This Fair Use Policy applies to FaxyFox Unlimited subscriptions and supplements our Terms of Service. Other FaxyFox services remain subject to their own terms and usage rules.
