Creator Club Submission Terms
These are the rules for sending FaxyFox a shirt idea or a design, in plain language.
Sending us something does not hand it over. You keep ownership of what you submit. Nothing is printed, sold, or licensed until you and FaxyFox agree to it separately, in writing.
1. What You Are Sending
A description of an idea, a piece of your own artwork, or both. We ask for your name and email so we can reach you about it.
It has to be yours. Submit only work you created, or work you have permission to submit. That rules out:
- Artwork, photographs or illustrations you found online
- Logos, characters, or designs belonging to someone else
- Band names, film titles, or celebrity names and likenesses
- Anything you are under an agreement not to share
Nostalgia is welcome; copying is not. Being reminded of the eighties is an idea. Reusing an eighties band's logo is somebody else's property.
2. What Happens Next
We read every submission. If we want to take one further, we email you.
Submitting does not mean we will make it. We choose what to produce based on originality, how it fits FaxyFox, and whether it would work as a shirt. Most ideas will not be made, and that is not a judgement of the idea.
We do not promise a review deadline. If we are not going ahead, you may not hear back.
3. Who Owns It
You do. Submitting gives FaxyFox permission to look at your idea and talk to you about it. It does not transfer copyright, grant us a licence to sell it, or let us produce it.
If we want to make your design, we will send you a separate agreement covering what we may use, for how long, whether it is exclusive, how you are credited, and how you are paid. Nothing is produced before that is signed.
You are free to submit the same idea elsewhere, or to withdraw it, at any time before such an agreement exists.
4. The 10% Royalty
If an approved design of yours goes on sale, you earn 10% of qualifying sales of that design.
Qualifying sales means the price the customer pays for the item, after any discount, and excludes:
- Shipping and handling
- Sales tax and other taxes
- Orders that are cancelled, refunded, or charged back
- Items given away, including merchandise rewards and samples
There is no guaranteed income. The royalty is a share of actual sales. A design that does not sell earns nothing.
The following are not yet settled and will be confirmed in your design agreement before anything is produced: how often royalties are reported and paid, the payment method, any minimum payout threshold, and how tax information is collected. We will not ask for bank or tax details when you submit.
5. Your Details and Your Files
We keep your name, email, what you sent, and when, so we can review it and come back to you. See our privacy policy for how we handle personal information generally.
Uploaded artwork is stored at an unguessable web address so we can review it and show it in our own notifications. It is not listed, indexed, or published anywhere on the site, but treat the file as shareable rather than secret.
Ask us and we will delete your submission.
6. Fair Use of the Programme
Submit as many ideas as you like. We may decline submissions, or stop accepting them from someone, where they are automated, abusive, or repeatedly infringe somebody else's rights.
If you believe something we have produced copies your work, contact us and we will look into it and take it down while we do.
7. Changes
We may change these terms. The version you agreed to is recorded with your submission, and that is the version that applies to it.
Questions about any of this: contact us and ask.
